Allergies

We don’t get Taxis for our guests that have serious allergies.  Instead, we discuss things with our Head Chef and find something safe and delicious.

We really do take allergies very seriously but if you are unlucky enough to have one that is life threatening please be aware that it is your responsibility to manage what you can and can’t have.  Always check with the team before ordering and they will guide you. Get in touch before your visit and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Below is an example of us doing it well!!

“WOW. What a night!!”

“I cannot explain how amazing that experience was, to be able to sit down and know I could eat safely without all the anxiety and difficulty (and sometimes embarrassment) of trying to explain my limitations to the wait staff and then trying to find something safe. I could just enjoy my company and the venue (which was absolutely wonderful) without worrying about a thing!! And that’s entirely thanks to your help. So I cannot thank you enough!

Thank you for taking the time to come over and say hello! All the other staff were excellent, coming over to find me and all were absolutely on top of the situation!

The meal was fantastic – thank you so much!!! Simple and delicious, just how I like it, I did ask to pass my thanks to the chef but could you please make sure he received it? I’d be excited to try something different next time, even if it’s just swapping out the meat, but the same thing again would be just as great too!!

And the good news is that I walked away without feeling any kind of my normal allergy reactions, so it definitely was safe I am beaming!! And I’ll certainly be letting my community of similar people know that DMB is a fantastic place to go!

You can count on me coming back, so I will save your email and let you know when I manage to make a booking to give you advanced notice.

Thank you again, and I can’t wait until next time!!!”

Menu Key

Don't feel bad if you're allergic to the following or more, some of those descriptions are enough to make us question why we eat them in the first place! At DMB we can work around your needs and give you something both delicious and safe, Just let us know!

Book a table

Fish

Exoskeleton-bearing aquatic invertebrates used as food. Suddenly I’m not so keen however our beautifully, fresh fish is supplied by a company in Andover who champion freshly caught fish from the Brixham day boats. Over 15 years I have built! a solid relationship with this supplier who continues to consistently deliver the freshest British Fish and shellfish to us at DMB.

Nuts

Whilst we don’t add nuts to any dishes that aren’t specified with our symbol, nuts are used in our kitchen and cannot guarantee our products are 100% nut free. Nuts are actually a fruit composed of an inedible hard shell and a seed, which is generally edible, unless you’re allergic, then definitely not.

Wheat & Cereals

Grass widely cultivated for its seed, a cereal grain which is a worldwide staple food, unless your celiac, then not so much. Our daily bread is supplied by Honest Bakery. Traditional bakers using traditional natural, fermentation techniques which ensures there is no compromise on the texture or flavour. The doughs are hand formed and stone baked bringing you breads of the very highest quality.

Dairy

Food produced from or containing the milk of mammals, primarily cattle, water buffaloes, goats, sheep, camels and humans. Which doesn’t sound that appealing anyway.

Eggs

Laid by female animals of many different species, including birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and fish, and have been eaten by humans for thousands of years. And now not so appetising!

Lupin

A legume belonging to the same plant family as peanuts. For many people, eating lupin or a lupin-derived ingredient, such as a flour, is safe but not always. At DMB you can skip the legume and eat worry free.
